Ha Thanh Industrial Co., Ltd recently successfully completed a project to rubber line two large-scale 56-inch butterfly valves, a critical component of the 2025 Turnaround Maintenance for our valued partner, PetroVietnam Camau Fertilizer JSC (PVCFC).
The project not only demonstrates PVCFC’s trust in Ha Thanh’s capabilities but also solidifies our leading position in providing industrial anti-corrosion and surface protection solutions in Vietnam.

From Technical Challenge to Comprehensive Solution
Beyond the complex technical requirements for such a large-scale piece of equipment, the project’s greatest challenge was the extreme time pressure. The entire process, from receiving the equipment to handing it back to the plant, had to be completed in just 5.5 days. Specifically:
Transporting the valves from Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant to Ha Thanh’s workshop in Vung Tau: 1 day.
Performing all repair, lining, vulcanization, and quality control procedures at the workshop: 3.5 days.
Transporting back and handing over to the plant to meet the installation schedule: 1 day.
This was immense pressure, demanding seamless, minute-by-minute coordination between departments, alongside outstanding production organization and problem-solving capabilities.
Rising to this challenge, with our motto of “Safety – Quality – Progress – Efficiency“, the Ha Thanh team demonstrated its capability and professionalism through a scientific and efficient workflow:
Appraisal and Disassembly: Upon receipt, our engineers conducted detailed inspections and measurements of the valve’s condition and carried out the disassembly with great care.
Thorough Surface Treatment: The old rubber and all impurities were completely removed. The metal surface was then treated using specialized sandblasting methods to create the standard surface roughness, ensuring perfect adhesion for the new lining.
Priming and Rubber Lining: The surface was coated with a special primer before Ha Thanh’s skilled technicians applied the new rubber lining. Each step was tightly controlled to ensure uniform thickness and prevent air bubbles.
Vulcanization in a Modern Autoclave: This is the decisive step for product quality. The valves were placed in Ha Thanh’s large-scale autoclave system to undergo vulcanization under precisely controlled temperature and pressure, helping the rubber achieve optimal adhesion, hardness, and chemical resistance.
Quality Control (QC) and Finishing: Before shipment, the products underwent rigorous testing, including adhesion tests (Peel test), thickness measurement with a PosiTector device, water tightness testing, and surface finishing to ensure the highest quality standards were met.
Handover: Upon completion, the two valve sets were assembled, carefully packaged, and handed over for transport back to Ca Mau, ensuring swift installation and operation in line with the plant’s overall schedule.
